Acne Clearing Face Mask
Hey there! Today, i’m going to go into depth on each of my favorite acne clearing face mask, what they claim to do and how I like to use each one.
Disclaimer – guys, i’m no expert, these are the products that work for me and my methods work for me. Always spot try before applying to your entire face. What may work for me, may not work for you.
I’m not someone who likes to spend money on expensive things. I love shopping, but on the cheaper side of things. So, most of the products I list will be on fairly cheap.
I don’t use a face mask everyday, maybe once to three times a week, depending on how lazy I am. I use whichever mask that my face needs the most.
It’s not only the face washes, toners, and moisturizers that helped clear my skin. Face mask played a role in the whole acne clearing process.
Indian Healing Clay helps remove impurities and dirt from pore, deep pore cleansing of the skin. Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) helps to get rid of excess bacteria, removes excess oil and makeup lingering from the day, and balances the natural pH level of your skin. Healing Clay can be used with water as well.
Mixing the two, equal parts, meaning if I put 1 tablespoon of healing clay into a glass bowl, I will add 1 tablespoon of ACV. Normally I make 2 parts healing clay and 2 parts ACV. Mix together until it becomes a paste. Applying majority of my masks with a brush, for easy application.
Apply a thick layer & let it dry for 15-20 minutes, if you have delicate skin let dry for 5-10 minutes. I can literally feel some sort of sensation, it feel likes the clay is sucking the impurities out. I remove the mask with a warm wash cloth to remove most of the mask. Being careful to not get most of it down the drain, because since it’s clay, it hardens and may clog the pipes. Your skin will be quite red afterwards, & it last for about 30 minutes or so.
I use this mask when I’m having multiple large breakouts & need to get rid of them. This mask is extreme, it’s very strong. It will reduce the size of the breakouts by the next morning.
GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Treatment – $52.68 for 1.7oz on Amazon (cheaper than Sephora)
GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Mask works before on normal, oily, combination skin. SuperMud Clearing Mask is designed to clear your complexion and helps resolves issues related to pores, acne and blemishes, and oiliness. The mask contains activated-X charcoal that takes away dirt and leaves you with a healthy looking complexion.
This mask is my absolute favorite. I apply it with either my finger or a brush, I can instantly feel my face tingle. Let it dry and sit for 15-20 minutes, then I rinse with warm water. Feeling squeaky clean right after.
If I could afford to buy jar after jar, I would. Never would I spend that much on a face mask, but this is just so good. My complexion changes after the mask, my skin look vibrant and glowy, and best of all, my breakouts flatten.
L’Oreal Detox & Brighten Mask deep cleanses and removes impurities, energizes dull skin, brightens, and evens skin tone.
When my skin is feeling icky, or maybe I have a few small breakouts I whip out this mask. It gives a boost to my skin, leaving it feeling clean. I leave this mask on till it dries, & removes it with warm water. I would say this is comparable to the GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Mask, at a cheaper price.
Formula 10.0.6 Deep Down Detox Mud Mask – $6.99 @ Target
First of all, $6.99?! Anything less than $10.00 makes me happy!
Deep Down Detox claims cleanse impurities for a clearer, brighter complexion.
I totally agree, it gives me all of that. After applying the mask, leaving to dry for 10-15 minutes, rinsing with warm water, my skin does feel clean, clearer and brighter. Not only does it do all the things it claims to do, it smells so good.
Overall, for $6.99, I really can’t complain.
Boscia Luminizing Black Mask – $34.00 @ Sephora
You may be thinking “peel off black mask? The one I kept seeing online?” No, this is not the same. This is a peel off black mask, however it’s not the same as the ones you may be thinking of.
Bosica’s luminizing Black Mask does exactly as it states, it luminizes. It claims to detoxify, purify, and brighten.
This mask is used when my face is feeling dull or when it’s a special day, or if there’s a special event going on, not usually when I have breakouts. I use it 30 minutes or so before I start getting ready. I apply it with my fingers, leave to completely dry, then I peel off. The mask does take a while to dry, so I never use it if i’m in a rush.
Boscia’s mask really gives me nice glow, clear complexion after I peel off the mask, leaving my face feeling even and brighter and ready for a makeup application.
That’s it for my favorite face mask! I hope this post was useful for you. Let me know your favorite face mask, i’d love to try new ones!
